Monarch Beach is open to the public. However, dining at Monarch Bay Beach Club or beach and tram services from the Monarch Bay Beach Club team are available to Members and overnight resort guests.

While the resort does not provide complimentary airport transportation or shuttle service, the Concierge would be happy to assist with making airport transportation arrangements. Please dial the resort at +1 949.234.3200.

Dogs are allowed to visit the resort with their owners and are subject to a non-refundable Cleaning Charge, plus a Boarding Charge per night, per dog. Dogs should be well-mannered, free of contagious conditions or illness, and weigh no more than 40 pounds.

Dog-friendly areas include the main lobby and guest rooms. Pets are not permitted where food or beverages are being served, around the pool, on the tram, at the beach, at Monarch Bay Beach Club, or at the golf course.

The hotel is 100% non-smoking and non-vaping.

A cleaning fee will be applied to a guest room where smoking or vaping has occurred.

Non-professional photography and filming (such as mobile phone photos) for personal use is permitted on the hotel premises for registered Resort Guests only. The privacy and safety of all guests must be respected, and filming must not interrupt hotel operations.

Wedding photography including engagement shoots are reserved exclusively for couples with a contracted celebration at Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club.

Although early check-in may not be guaranteed, every attempt will be made to honor requests for early check in. Luggage may be stored at the Bell Desk while you enjoy resort amenities such as dining and recreation until your room is available.

Late departures may be coordinated with the Front Desk, who will strive to accommodate late check-out requests based on availability.

All guest rooms and suites feature private balconies or terraces, depending on the type of room that has been reserved.

Oceans views are limited and may be reserved, based on availability. All rooms enjoy views of the resort grounds.

When reserving your guest room, please let your reservation agent know that you would like connecting rooms. Every effort will be made to ensure connecting rooms, although they cannot be guaranteed.

Yes, 24-hour in-room dining is offered to guests. Waldorf Astoria New York was the first hotel to offer 24-hour room service in 1931 and we are proud to continue that legacy at Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach.

There are three pools at the resort.

Monarch Pool
The signature resort pool, with views of the Pacific Ocean and two infinity-edge whirlpools. Pool hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (subject to change). Cabana service is available to reserve. Beverage and dining service provided by Sombra Cantina.

South Pool
This family-friendly pool is perfect for the littlest swimmers and waders. Cabana service is available to reserve.

Spa Pool
The adults-only Spa pool is a sanctuary for swimming laps and lounging. Available to Resort Guests that have reserved a same-day spa treatment.

Yes, poolside cabana reservations are available at the signature Monarch Pool and family-friendly South Pool. Cabanas include sparkling and still water, a bowl of fruit, and unparalleled service from your own dedicated Cabana Host. Each cabana boasts sofa seating, two chaise lounges, a ceiling fan, a TV, and up-front pool access.

Yes, complimentary resort trams operate daily from 8:00 a.m. and pick up from the tram stop near the Main Lobby every 15 minutes, based on demand. The route takes Resort Guests and Members to Monarch Bay Beach Club and back. The last tram to Monarch Bay Beach Club departs at 8:00 p.m. and the last tram returns to the hotel at 9:45 p.m.

Our resort spans 175 acres of prime Southern California coast and features Orange County's only private beach club at Monarch Bay Beach Club. Travel between the main hotel and the beach club is available to Resort Guests and Members by complimentary tram. Trams operate daily from 8:00 a.m. and pick up from the tram stop near the Hotel Lobby every 15 minutes, based on demand. The route takes passengers past Salt Creek Trail and under Pacific Coast Highway, to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted journey. The last tram to Monarch Bay Beach Club from the hotel departs at 8:00 p.m. and the last tram returns to the hotel at 9:45 p.m.

Chairs, umbrellas, towels, and water are available for Resort Guests and Members daily from 8:00 a.m. to Sunset.

Bourbon Steak is open for dinner, serving prime cuts, fresh seafood, and an upscale menu of modern favorites. 

Monarch Bay Beach Club features oceanfront dining and a menu of freshly caught seafood dishes among others. Available exclusively to overnight resort guests and members.

Sombra Cantina is our poolside eatery with elevated casual bites and refreshing cocktails.

33 North, known as the best perch in the house, features handcrafted cocktails, small bites and a terrace with views of the Pacific. 

Club 19 is located at the golf clubhouse and serves casual, upscale dishes, perfect for after a round on the links. 

Part + Parcel offers a selection of grab-and-go items, housemade gelato, and freshly brewed coffee drinks.

Yes, please include a note of dietary restrictions when making a dining reservation and let your server know of any dietary restrictions when you dine. Options for Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Vegetarian, and Vegan diets are available on most menus.

Outdoor dining is offered at Bourbon Steak Orange County, Aveo Table + Bar, Monarch Bay Beach Club, Club 19, and Sombra Cantina, based on weather conditions and availability. Twon-size rollaway beds are available for a fee of $50 per night. The following room types offer sufficient space for rollaway beds: all King bedded Signature Guestrooms, One Bedroom Suites, Studio Suites.
